Many of these images are from my Stella series. In mid-March of 2017, Winter Storm Stella came to town with three feet of snow and a fierce north wind. She stayed for two days. On March 16, with the sun shining, but the wind still howling, I explored Stella's wake. I found elegant drifts with subtle light and shadow a few feet from our back door. About a half-mile away, along the western end of Whitney Point Dam, I found thousands of densely-detailed, compacted mini drifts, ephemeral bas relief, evolving in real time.
